Last night I was lucky enough to attend my first SF Cocktail Week event at the fabulous Rye bar in downtown San Francisco with my good friend Van (who was kind enough to lend me her photographs from the event!).
The event was sponsored by the fabulously named Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails (LUPEC) and featured an all female bartending staff, who had a sexy librarian/secretary vibe going.
We tasted 6 of the 12 signature cocktails being served, here’s the ingredients from my favorite:
Pencil Sharpener

- Oro Abilla
- Pür•likör blossom – elderflower liquor
- Blackberries
- Lemon
- Orange juice
- Epozote tincture
- Angostura orange bitters
- Egg white
Very tasty, might require some homework to recreate it..
Also, I didn’t realize it at the event, but apparently all of the cocktail ingredients were masterminded, owned, distilled or created by women as well. Way to go Lady Cocktail Power!
